The study demonstrates that the child will stand a greater chance at growing up to be an abusive parent, or an abused parent, than children who do not grow up in homes where domestic violence exists. is a real problem with domestic violence. It is not necessarily a new thing, as domestic violence has always existed in one way or another. In fact, it was not until recently that domestic violence was really looked upon as truly wrong or bad, as many times throughout society there have been plenty of people who feel it is necessary to hit a woman now and again. And not until very recently was spanking even considered to be wrong in this society. In fact, most of us that are adults today were spanked as a child, yet now the Child Protection Services tell us it is wrong and should not be done. There is no law against it, yet society says no these days. In light of such a past, it comes as no surprise that domestic violence exists, and perhaps, in this past that we all possess, we can find the answers to why domestic violence continues. We were taught that spanking was the right way to discipline, and our parents were taught the same, as were their parents and so on. Now, suddenly it is wrong so we stop to examine why we do it. This is likely a reality that is strongly tied to the issues relating to domestic violence, for domestic violence is really not far removed from such simple occurrences as spanking. In the following paper we present a hypothetical study that is designed to discover is domestic violence is repeated by the people who experience it in their youth.
