for advancement and personal development reflective of a specific career path. As a component of my educational and career development, my goals have changed significantly since I obtained my
undergraduate degree. My short term personal goals include the broad goal of improving my own intellectual development, including fostering the ability to travel, become a positive influence in the
world, and show an interest and understanding of international politics. My goals include gaining an understanding of the world through participation in other cultures, and relating my own personal
perspective to a reflection on global identities, interests and social history. My work experiences since obtaining my undergraduate degree have given me opportunities to meet and work with a
variety of other people in a service industry. My current profession as a waiter and lifeguard/poll manager have taught me to work as a part of a team, develop
interpersonal skills that take into consideration varied cultural backgrounds, and understand management principles and leadership. These career opportunities have also helped me understand that I need additional education in
order to ensure that I have the tools I need for personal and career advancement. Ive also learned that there is a larger world outside of my immediate surroundings, and
that there are incredible opportunities for learning that can extend from an awareness of different cultures, histories and beliefs. My long-term goals are somewhat more defined than my
short-term goals, and include my desire to develop a positive career that allows me to integrate my educational experiences while working with others. I believe that I could be
