Some people enjoy learning about cultures and students of sociology and anthropology will be particularly interested in such resources. In surfing the web, one can go to a browser and put in the search term "multiculturalism" and find a slew of sites. However, there are advantages and disadvantages to having such resources at the fingertips of the world. One site is called "Global and Multicultural Resources" and is supported by Penn Valley Community College in Kansas City, Missouri. The multicultural resources include African American, African, Arab and Middle Eastern, Jewish and Israeli, Hispanic, and Native American Resources. When clicking on African American, one is led to more than 25 different links. There are a variety of different offerings. One of the more than 25 links for example is The African American Odyssey where the exhibition is shown. The full title is "The exhibition The African American Odyssey: A Quest for Full Citizenship," and is something that displays African American collections contained in the Library of Congress ("Global," 2001). Displaying greater than 240 items, the library contains an array of books, government documents, manuscripts, maps, and musical scores (2001). There are also plays, films, and recordings, and the exhibit is considered to be the largest black history demonstration ever held there (2001).
