every aspect of ones life, from food and shelter to recreation and business, it is easy to see the influence monetary importance has upon the country. Money possesses a value unlike any other commodity in the world; its very nature allows for it to become a beneficial or most devastating force in ones life. Throughout history, money has played a significant role in virtually all cultures. It forces people to conform to a certain way of life, and it often changes their perceptions for the worse. It has been said that most people cannot handle the burden of having money - that it often turns them into greedy, uncompromising individuals who lose sight of the true meaning of moderation. This often occurs when only a fortunate minority of the culture attains great wealth; they immediately become separated from the rest of the community by self-imposing a sense of greatness that is directly attached to their monetary wealth. This mindset is particularly evident in the Book of Job when the following words were uttered: "Thy riches - If thou hadst as much of them as ever. Forces - The strongest forces" (Job 36, 19). Indeed, money is the indicator that dictates social standing. Even back thousands of years ago, great wealth determined ones place in society unlike any other status symbol. The poor dreamed of having such riches, while the wealthy dreamed of attaining even greater wealth. It is no different in todays society where money rules ambition to achieve and move forward, both personally and professionally. Money also plays a significant role in determining marital partners, as women have historically sought out mates who are substantially better off financially than they are.
