Being sponsored by the local council, with the aim of encouraging healthy lifestyles and life skills, as well as a petrochemical company that wants to enhance its reputation, it is expected that the expedition cost a total of ?129,600. The majority of this funding will come from the sponsors, but would also be supplemented by a plan to take a camera crew on the expedition to make a reality television program. The expedition itself will take place over a period of several weeks, the majority of which will be in school holidays, and will be supported through professional project management aimed at ensuring that there are clear plans and schedules with all travel arrangements made prior to the expedition starting. 2. Introduction As part of a strategy to promote healthy lifestyles and encourage teamwork and leadership skills and character development in children the local county council is co-sponsoring a project along with a major petrochemical company that is seeking to enhance their reputation following a drop in popularity.
