the present. This paper reviews the sites of four of the many available online education choices and discusses some of the issues surrounding online education.
Cardean University This online university is unique among online offerings in that it represents a collaboration between several schools
around the country. The "umbrella" is Unext.com and includes courses from Cardean, Carnegie Mellon, the University of Chicago, Stanford and Columbia Business School. The site offers two demos,
one that presents a marketing case study and another that allows the site visitor to submit work and later receive feedback on it.
All of Unexts courses are business-oriented, though it currently is in the process of adding several courses in law. This is something that has been missing from Internet colleges,
making Unext.com one of the first to offer any law courses. Business selections range from basic accounting, economics and management courses to targeted, tech-oriented issues in business including ecommerce
and globalization of business. The University Alliance This site also brings together several traditional colleges
and universities, including Saint Leo, Regis, Jacksonville, Villanova and the University of South Florida. Program focus of the University Alliance includes a Masters in business from Regis University; all
other degree programs are Bachelors level and below. The University Alliance offers undergraduate degrees in business, but also in nursing and criminology.
