This makes sense, since the object of a college degree is to make people more efficient in their jobs; why wouldnt someone who does a good job be able to tell a prospective college about that success? This paper is an essay done for the University of Phoenix using Kolbs Model of Learning, that presents a students information with regard to the relationship between plans and science and work in the floral industry. Discussion The objective here is for the student to relate past experience to what he or she hopes to accomplish in a college course of study. The student here is relating their experience of plants and science to work in the floral industry. Doing that, the student might express their thinking as follows. Description of Concrete Experience: There is a huge connection between science and plants; in fact, there as entire branch of science devoted to the study of plants: botany. Studying plants scientifically also leads to an appreciation of plant materials used in the floral industry. One thing I learned from working with plants in science was the obvious fact that not everything grows equally well in all conditions. That means that a florist will be able to prepare some arrangements easily because the materials are native to the area; others will take much longer and cost more because its necessary to find the flowers somewhere else.
