E-Health applications can be a tremendous resource in fighting hypertension. Although several definitions have been proposed, perhaps one of the most pertinent is that proposed by the HIMSS. They define e-health as the application of the Internet and: "other related technologies in the healthcare industry to improve the access, efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of clinical and business processes". E-Health resources are utilized not just by the healthcare establishment itself but also by patients and consumers (HIMSS, 2006; Edlin, 2006). The goal of this utilization, of course, is to "improve the health status of patients" (HIMSS, 2006).
