may be used for a variety of control tasks as well as the administration. If we want increased flexibility to the company then the use of laptops is the next
step, however, for this to be a success there needs to be the relevant documentation process in order to bring the laptop into the system. Documentation is required
in several manners for this to be successful. Firstly the documentation for the users needs to be clear, as the system use of the laptop needs to be integrated with
the existing systems, or if used as a stand alone system it also needs to have the usage clearly defined with the relevant papers and documentation giving guidance on its
correct usage as well as aspects of the system that may need attention. These documentations are usually provided by the manufacturer. For example, if we consider a laptop that
was brought out several years ago, aimed at the manufacturing industry we see a laptop similar to many others, portable with a trackball, self contained unit with both screen and
keyboard, capable of being used as a stand alone or integrated into a network when docked or connected to a relevant port (Barker, 1996). This was the powerlite by RDI,
a computer heavier than the Intel based computers, this was based on the SPARC system, with a high level of functionality (Barker, 1996). Here the features indicate the documentation
