perhaps emotional - to become married. A lot has changed in the last one hundred years in relation to womens roles in the
workplace. To be sure, one would never find a female CEO at the turn of the century, nor would one be accustomed to seeing women in many executive positions
at all. However, contemporary times have illustrated how women have been successful in their attempts to break through the barriers of a patriarchal work society and effectively plant themselves
in the midst of prosperity. Despite the myriad challenges, women have come a long way in the workplace to the point where they are able to support themselves.
Similar to the struggles faced by other minorities, women have fought a long, tough battle to reach the pinnacle of their current economic security, the reality of which was once
left up to the husband to provide. Religion has been the guiding force behind the tradition of marriage, with each one purporting its own reason for and support of the
holy vows of matrimony. For example, marriage is a very natural and expected occurrence within the Jewish and Christian religions; to remain unmarried is thought to be unholy.
Christian marriage has undergone a metamorphosis of qualification since its origin, ultimately bringing to bear the rejection of interfaith unions. According to the Jewish Talmud, marriage removes the element
