This memo will be used to inform the current candidate running for state legislature about the issues and to present a position to be taken. Arguments to be considered are for or against school choice and for or against a particular system. Evidence is needed to back up this position. MEMO: Currently the problem in this area is the overcrowding of inner city schools contrasted with the relatively uncrowded suburban school systems. While there are a number of different suggestions as to alleviating this imbalance, none of the voters show a majority favoring any one system. After studying the arguments for and against each argument, it is felt that the stance to be taken is to allow private corporations to run schools in competition with public schools. Many of these corporations have already been lobbying the state legislature. Many question whether this is an ethical way to run a school, and yet private schools do just that and are for the most part very well run and extremely successful.
