The authors outline each fear and provide adequate examples from real life and professions useful to the readers who may see themselves in similar situations. Finally, the authors provide some techniques on how to overcome the procrastination cycles which include taking an inventory of consequences, setting and achieving goals, time and organizational management and enlisting support. In Burka and Yuens text "Procrastination: Why you do it , What to do about it" (1983), the authors explain about the age old problem of procrastination and what people can do to get themselves out of the cycle of procrastination. The authors, both psychologists, feel that they have more than enough experience in the matter from the memories of the days in university, Nevertheless, they remark that the word conjures up many different meaning to different people some involving pleasant memories avoiding house work to relax outside but others may involve more unpleasant memories of cluttered desks and the nightmares which followed (Burka and Yuen 3). The difference between the two scenarios is the cause of serious problems as addressed in their first chapter "1: Procrastination: Nuisance of Nemesis?".
