quickly having two children. While a mother of two small children, Britney acts like a rock star as she goes to clubs and "parties" almost daily. At least, this is
the picture presented of her. Because of her alcohol and drug habits, Britney entered a rehabilitation center, but quickly left. She shaved her head in another bold move that was
caught by paparazzi. A battle between Britney and her ex, Kevin Federline, ensued for custody of the children. Because of Britneys bad behavior, she would have to prove to the
judge that she is a fit mother. The negative behavior coincides with the split so Britneys children had been taken from her. During this period, she had been evaluated psychiatrically.
While medical records are confidential, bipolar disorder is a diagnosis that has been discussed in the media. The marital and child custody situation is ongoing. One can say that Britney
Spears behavior is somewhat abnormal. On the other hand, in a society where rock stars do behave in incredible ways, her behavior is somewhat typical. Her behavior is certainly also
typical of bipolar disorder. The afflicted do behave unconventionally and Britneys unconventional behavior-shaving her head, exposing herself in public-may be associated with manic episodes. While one might say that she
is behaving in typical rock star fashion, the truth is that there is a great deal of dark behavior and negative consequences for Britney. Many rock stars have drug problems,
but they do not risk losing their children by unreasonable behavior nor do they purposefully make spectacles of themselves. Some reports suggest that Britney wants the paparazzi to follow her.
Largely, her behavior is self-destructive. Further, her attempts to get back in shape and in true Britney form have failed, suggesting that she does not have the wherewithal to work.
