Love enlists the help of myriad emotions that help man to delineate one type from another, however, there is still a common denominator between and among all kinds of love no matter the other specifications: a sense of caring. Sometimes caring attention reflects a tender longing to be in the company of another person motivated by passionate desire, simple friendship or companionship on another level (such as a dog); yet other times it can be the catalyst to something wholly unhealthy by virtue of the individuals drastically inflated fixation upon the object of his or her desire, which can readily turn into stalking and lead to dangerous confrontations. From the Greeks to Freud, theories of love abound in mans quest to fully understand his own motivational factors. The "love" to which most people aspire is a most esoteric entity; love is not only elusive in its existence but it is also obscure in its definition. From passionate to familial to friendship and everything in between, the very notion of love defies any unique formula, a reality that serves to both confound and captivate at the same time. The extent to which love exists upon myriad levels is both grand and far-reaching; while it is one of mans most basic of emotions, something this esoteric cannot be encapsulated by a single definition inasmuch as humans do not operate upon a one-dimensional level. Nietzsche considered love as a state of being that compelled people to take leave of their senses; that loves influence creates a head-in-the-clouds type of response, he contended people are misguided in their thought processes whereby perspectives are falsified from the high-flying emotional condition ...
