Children begin learning moral values in the very early stages of life. Many researchers have noted that children are endowed with and are capable of exhibiting a sense of empathy from birth. This shows a propensity and ability to learn the concepts of morality, in a basic mode, that begins with the child in a crib. The magical nature of the fairy tale is geared specifically toward the pre-school stage of cognitive development. The lessons of fairy tales can be used throughout life and in adult situations. Real life situations can be mirrored in fairy tales to teach the child what to expect of life. This 3 page paper asserts that Fairy Tales are an excellent means of teaching morals to pre-school age children in a way that is easily understood and is of value throughout the child's life.
