Some believe that their take on the matter is a perversion of Islam. Others believe that it is aligned with the religion. In exploring this religion, what stands out is
the idea that there are those who take the Quran quite literally and others who use it only peripherally. Some contend that the Quran is the central document for the
religion and really the only thing that matters in the context of that religion. Others treat the document seriously, but do not see it as being so significant as to
exclude all other documents. Indeed, with the Muslim community there is disagreement. Translations are also a part of the disagreement. In many religions, there are problems when it comes to
translation. With the Christian bible for example there are numerous translations such as the King James version or the Revised Standard Version (RSV) or the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
and so forth. Each is supposed to be better or more understandable than the next, but sometimes there is something to be gained from what lies between the words. Words
have meaning and translations can sometimes take on a biased effect. Sometimes it is better to stick with the original text even though newer translations profess more accuracy. Thus, interpretations
are controversial and different sects of Christianity for example recommend different versions of the bible. Similarly, in Islam, there are interpretations of the Quran and this has caused a great
