his impeccable comedic talent as a vehicle for voicing concerns that are close to his heart. Intimately involved with such organizations as the Parental Stress Center in Pittsburgh, PA,
Keaton borrows from his own personal experiences as Center spokesman when he creates such emotionally-challenged characters as Jack Butler in Mr. Mom and Jack Frost in Jack Frost. When Jack
Butler loses his job due to alleged company downsizing, the news throws him into a tailspin, inasmuch as he is the familys sole breadwinner. His primary concern is, of
course, with regard to the financial crisis his layoff will mean, sending him scrambling to secure another position as soon as possible. When he has no luck landing even
a single offer, his wife Caroline -- Teri Garr -- suggests that she re-enter the job market; however, it has been years since she has worked, and Butler doubts she
possess the skills necessary to find a job that pays better than minimum wage. Fittingly so, he is considerably shocked when Caroline returns home after immediately being offered a
job with an advertising agency. This sets the stage for marital difficulties born out of Butlers self-imposed inferiority complex for not effectively providing for his family. After a period
of great difficulty adjusting to staying at home, caring for the children, accepting Carolines new position and her close relationship with the boss, Butler ultimately comes to the realization that
