There are generally mission statements associated with many businesses, and in todays world it is becoming more and more important to incorporate ethics into business and management. The following paper examines and discusses five different quotes that can be applied to ethics in the world of business and management. Quotes for Ethics in the Field of Business and Management The first quote is attributed to Timothy Dexter and it states, "An ungrateful man is like a hog under a tree eating acorns, but never looking up to see where they came from" (GospelWeb, 2009). This quote offers a sense of greediness, entitlement, and selfishness. This individual does not care where his wealth or his power comes from, he simply acts as though he is deserving of what falls, and he thus only thinks about himself and his own needs, perhaps wanting all the acorns for himself which indicates greediness. In a business and in the field of management it is very important to never take things for granted. A person must always be aware that there are many other people, and many other needs, in the organization besides their own. In addition, an individual cannot simply assume that the money will come, that people will, for example, simply buy a product.
