the following. Its probably fair to say that when most people think of Hawaii, they probably picture the beaches first. After all, Hawaii is an island chain, and people come
here because its warm and they can spend a lot of time outdoors. But it wasnt the beaches or the beautiful sunny days that I first noticed, it was the
air. It was incredibly soft and fragrant and felt very gentle on my skin. Its hard to explain, but if I had to try and make a comparison, Id say
that the air in any major American city is like wool, while the air of Hawaii is like silk. In addition, whether its a gentle trade wind or a typhoon,
the air is almost always moving. The first time I really thought about it, I just closed my eyes and enjoyed the feel of the breeze on my face; it
happens only in the islands. The beaches of course are as beautiful as any tourist brochure: the sands are white, the palm trees green, and the water and sky a
brilliant blue. Its so much like a photograph that at times it doesnt even look real. However, Waikiki Beach is such a "tourist trap" that its best to go elsewhere,
even to another island, if you really want to enjoy the scenery-and have the room to swim and explore the sea. Otherwise youll just be bumping into a lot of
people who are greasy with sun tan oil and annoyed by the high prices or something like that. That particular beach is so crowded that its not much fun to
