This discussion will look at the woman and her work Personal History Bourke-White was born in either 1904 or 1906. As a child she was encouraged to excel by her parents, both professionals. Not setting her sights low she enrolled at Columbia University in 1922, but did not graduate until 1927, after switching majors several times. And then it was not from Columbia, but she did graduate from Cornell as a photography major.
