with a computer company, PC Link Systems, Inc., located in Long Island, NY. The company sells computer hardware and software, assembles PCs and develops PC link systems for individuals and
organizations. The internship itself involved the position as accountant/financial manager, and, according to the student, was to provide him or her with some
insights into the actual tasks and knowledge that such a person would need to function in this particular field. Much of the knowledge known involves taxation, audits and management advisory
services. Upon completion of the internship, the student was asked to write a paper detailing the skills he/she learned during the internship, and
how such skills actually related to his or her coursework. Needless to say, in a paper of this type, its difficult to detail
exact skills the student might have learned on a job like this, as each company is different when it comes to how they might use employees. Many times, for example,
accounting interns might not necessarily use analytical or auditing skills if they are asked to collect and sort data (which sometimes interns are used to do). However, based on job
descriptions available both on the Internet and in publications, and based on job trends in both these professions, we can put together a pretty clear idea of what this type
of internship might have entailed for the student. Before we continue, we also need to clarify one more thing. Though the student uses
