for organizations in any industry to adopt technological solutions to streamline organizational practices and increased productivity. This paper will explore the adoption of a database management system at a hypothetical
shipping company, Huffman Trucking. History This section of the paper helps the student introduce the hypothetical case study of Huffman Trucking and its technology needs, which will serve
as the foundation for the paper as a whole. In order to fully understand how technological solutions can provide a productive intervention in virtually any modern business context, one might
look at a hypothetical scenario involving a typically small to medium sized enterprise that would not typically be seen as reliant upon information systems: a light trucking company based in
the United States, known as Huffman Trucking. Huffman Trucking was established in 1936 and took off during the 1940s when the Second World War created a significant demand for private
shipping companies that could move important freight from Mid-Western factories to coastal ports for shipment to soldiers abroad. During this time, the company expanded rapidly and established a contractual relationship
with the US government that has continued to this day. Throughout the 70s, the company continued to grow and expand, acquiring a number of its competitors across the Eastern coast
