We will start the paper by looking at some of the background of coffee and coffee exports from this area and then consider the process. Coffee is a word that originated from the Arabic language of Qahwa, Qahhwah or Kahoua meaning exciting and may be used to describe the coffee beans, the coffee drinks made from pouring water that is boiled over the roasted ground coffee, a place where people gather in public to drink coffee or the dark brown colour that resembles the drink (Anonymous, 2005). Coffee has been associated the Kaffa, the native Ethiopian coffee plants, however even if coffee was used here it was not cultivated as it was the Arabs that first cultivated coffee (Anonymous. 2005). It was here that the most important type of coffee plant gained its name; Coffee Arabica (Anonymous, 2005).
