have proposed the idea that information technology on the whole is responsible for the capacity of developing nations to enter into the free trade arena and prosper thereby. Traditionally, however,
information technology infrastructures have been associated with staggering material costs that are often well beyond the reach of those who need them the most. This is where cloud computing, a
new infrastructural concept in computing, comes into play. By embracing the node-like function of individual operators, cloud computing allows for the development of widespread information networks without the upfront costs
of servers, cabling, and so on. This paper will briefly examine the benefits of cloud computing. This paragraph helps the student give an overall summary of what cloud computing
is, and its importance to emerging economies. The revolution in information technology has brought about many critical innovations which seem certain to shape the future of the coming century. Cloud
computing, however, is among the most significant. To understand how this is the case, one might look at the rampant increase of globalization that has occurred in the 21st century.
This globalization and the associated rise in free trade has largely been made possible because of increased international communications and the declination of cultural boundaries facilitated thereby. Consequently, it is
widely believed that introducing information technologies into a market naturally leads to the development of industry and trade in that market. This is backed up by studies indicated that, over
the last thirty years, countries utilizing information technologies in their industrial infrastructure have grown and developed at a rate three times that of countries which have declined to adopt such
technology (Atkinson & McKay, 2007). Unfortunately, many developing nations lack the material resources necessary to implement traditional computing networks, due to the relatively high cost associated with cables, servers, the
