In psychiatry and psychology today, many ethical questions crop up, such as whether or not it is right to provide drugs for a patient who is depressed or has difficulty controlling behavior. Likewise, in term of modifying and managing behaviors, many questions arise and authors have attempted to provide a basis for which readers can make their own decisions. In fact, one can glean from this book that each and every individual practitioner will need to make decisions for themselves in terms of implementing behavior management models. The first chapter also delves into the law, some of which is controversial, inclusive of individualized programs. The government mandated IEP (Individual Education Plan) for students with disabilities is something that is an area of study related to an overview on behavior control. The first chapter, while providing a broad overview, also gives the reader what he or she needs to know regarding the law in this area. It addresses most moral, legal and ethical questions many therapists will ask when utilizing behavioral approaches. Chapter Two The second chapter is entitled "Models of Human Behavior and Teacher Effectiveness Guidelines."
