of the attacks of September 11. But, we are at war in a way that has perhaps never been seen by previous generations. We are not at war with any
particular country, or any particular area. We are at war against ideas and the actions which are part of those ideas. We are at war with terrorism and the limits
of the battlefield are endless as we discuss entering into Russia, Korea, and anywhere else the idea of terrorism seems to exist. By all accounts, and even dismissing the fact
that many scholars, officials, and professionals have stated that we have entered into a new type of warfare only seen in the 21st century, it seems incredibly clear that we
have entered into a new style of warfare. In the following paper we examine this, and discuss whether we are, in all honesty, truly involved in a new type of
warfare. Warfare Today One of the most telling signs that we are in a new form of warfare today is that which speaks of no visible enemy. As
was often heard during the first few weeks following the attacks, "It is very difficult for a free and open society to defend against terrorists who are at once patient,
smart and willing to die" (Anonymous Bush: Were At War, 2001; p. 26). The enemy could be anywhere and it could be anyone. There is no way to know who
we are really fighting, for we are essentially fighting an idea and the people who follow that idea. And, it is not, as mentioned, a war that fights a
particular country or a particular culture so to speak. We are not at war with all Afghanistan people. We are not at war with all Iranian people, or, as in
