was a time that saw one of the most devastating events of all time, killing huge populations of people without any sense of pattern. One could safely say that every
single person who survived the plague had seen at least one member of their family killed from that disease. But, with this devastatingly horrific event also came a sense of
relief for the land and the people in the end. With the Plague came a relief from overpopulation and the loosening of the control held by the wealthy in the
form of Feudalism. This could well lead one to envision what Europe and European life may have been like if the Black Plague had never arrived. The following paper examines
what may have happened if the Black Plague had never arrived. What if the Black Plague Never Happened Europe, up until the time of the Black Plague, was
a region that was growing more and more populated and drained in many ways. One author notes that, "The population of Europe had roughly doubled in the four hundred years
leading up to the year AD 1300. An agricultural revolution, coupled with general warming, fed a huge population expansion" (Lienhard). But, then, in the beginning of the 14th century, there
came a famine as rains destroyed many crops and people began to die. This author notes that people even turned to cannibalism at this time as "They even opened graves
to claim the newly dead for food" (Lienhard). In terms of an economy there was the power of Feudalism wherein the wealthy would rent farms to workers, and workers
would be employed in agriculture in one aspect or another, ultimately giving money and power to the people in control, those people with land and money. However, there were so
