information anyplace, anywhere, anytime. Guglielmo Marconi could have hardly envisioned what his transmission of radio signals during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries would lead to less than
a hundred years later. Three innovations worthy of consideration because of their diversity are cellular telephones, wireless email and ultra-wideband devices. Although the concept of cell phones is hardly
new, they had been largely limited to private business use before 1993 when a multiple access system of digital communications was made readily available to the masses. Today, more
people are using cell phones than ever before, and according to statistics compiled by the Cellular Communications and Internet Association published in 2001, over 114 million subscribe to some type
of wireless telephone service (Moore and Moore, 2001, p. 30). As of 1999, it was revealed that more than 63 million people used cell phones in their cars in
order to receive assistance in emergency automotive situations (Moore and Moore, 2001). Currently, cell phones are most commonly used to conduct business and for safety reasons but they are
also a convenient way for families to easily communicate with each other while simply out shopping or dining out and also enables them to establish immediate contact with loved ones
in emergency situations. Because cell phones have been blamed for distracting drivers since they are being used with increasing frequency in cars, many manufacturers are now including hands-free accessories
which enables users to communicate without having to hold the pocket-sized phone by using a microphone and earpiece (Moore and Moore, 2001). Although cellular phones need to be regulated
