I. Introduction The Buddha accepted the idea of karma, and his path was called the Middle Way, which is something akin to the midpoint in life in society;
it is a compromise between pleasure and the life of a rigorous ascetic (Mabbett, 2002). It is the opposite of for example, an extreme way where one would live life
without pleasure or one would live a life with pleasure alone. Many know individuals who live life either way, at those extremes, but the Buddhist concept suggests moderation. And while
