that looms is health care, an issue that has been troublesome for years. Bill Clinton had originally run on this issue that saw his wife roll up her sleeves to no avail. Will Kerry or Bush, or whoever becomes the next president of the United States, be able to resolve the problem of affordable health insurance in the United States? The problem of health care in general is a significant one. Thus, a health care administrator must consider political issues as these do affect his clients. If health care becomes more expensive, there will be a reduction in resources. It will be more relevant to make sure that patients are properly treated. For example, many times patients go home with prescriptions and find that they cannot afford to fill them. If the next president of the United States can do something about things like the high cost of pharmaceuticals, that could affect a health care administrator and the decisions he has to make. While it is more complicated than what any president can do, certainly policies conducive to change helps the situation. President George W. Bush claims that health care reform should be built on the current health care system but one that gives patients more options while maintaining fewer requirements (McKelvey, 2004). It is something that should strengthen the relationship between physicians and patients (2004). Thus far, President Bush has signed into law a proposition that allows at least one million uninsured Americans a chance to put aside money in tax free health savings accounts (2004). He has also started a fund where health care centers in underserved communities can be supplemented (2004).
