Essay / Research Paper Abstract

A 5 page paper discussing the book “The Ego and His Own : The Case of the Individual Against Authority” by Max Stirner. In this book the reader is provided with a great amount of information that is very interesting in relationship to the individual and their unique search for a level of contentment. Stirner places this need far above the need for a controlled government and while this may appear to be anarchy, it is actually an issue that goes deeper than that. It is an anarchy, for the most part, that can provide all people with their ownness which would result in all people experiencing their required level of contentment. While this is highly unlikely, Stirner illustrates that it is more important for individuals to seek out their own enlightenment, than it is to rely on the government to do it for them.
