live, he ordered that all would be killed. But Mosess mother hid him. Ironically, when Moses was too big to be hidden any longer, she put him in a basket
and pushed him down the Nile, but he was discovered by the Pharaohs daughter. One would think that he had fallen into the wrong hands, but that was not so.
She knew he was probably the son of a Hebrew, but she cared for him anyway and saved his life. When he grew, she named him Moses. As he
got older, he began to notice that the Hebrews were being poorly treated and one day even killed a man who had attacked a Hebrew. The Pharaoh wanted his life.
Later, God ordered Moses to bring the Israelites out of Egypt. Moses was able to convey, to the people, what the Lord had told him. Such is what appears in
Exodus 1-4. In Samuel 1-3 a similar account of a boy, who grows to be a prophet of the Lord, appears. In Samuel, the story begins with Hannah and
her husband. The woman had prayed to the Lord for a child and soon she was blessed with a son who they named Samuel. Hannahs faith was deep and she
believed that because the Lord gave her the son, she would return the favor and give him back to the Lord. Samuel would grow up and himself become faithful. Samuel
was ministering and one day, the Lord confided that he would punish a man who had allowed his sons to blaspheme. Samuel reluctantly relayed the vision, and Eli was accepting
