With increase access to information and the communication this provides there are many opportunities for the individual and the company due to the technology and the attitude change created by technology. Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), has facilitated increased low cost global communication. Technology has also facilitated increased levels of outsourcing, creating jobs in developing countries which have a comparative advantage, but this has also had a cost in develop countries where jobs have been lost, this has an immediate economic impact, helping companies save money and supporting economic develop, which in turn had a long term social and cultural impact. Overall, technology may be seen as a modern social revolution. Text Technology has changed the world, transforming it from a diverse number of communities into a single hybrid community where there are some differences as well as many commonalities. Thomas Friedman (2005), describes this transformation of a diverse and fragmented world into one that is linked and flat by comparing the discovery that the world was round, following the voyage of Christopher Columbus to America, when seeking to find a route to India, a journey of many challenges which took a great deal of time with his own flight eastwards on a Lufthansa aircraft, the latter journey facilitated by modern technology and geo-economics (Friedman, 2005). This is a very different life from that of more than 500 years ago, and the main influence today is that of technology, changing the way we communicate, travel, gather information and the way everyday lives are affected at home and at work. ...
