paper properly! Introduction The founding of this nation has often been the subject of many a historical examination. In Jeff Shaaras "Rise to Rebellion" we see another examination of this particular period in history, but this time with a bit romance and reverence added. In Shaaras historical examination he puts emphasis on the fact that we often disregard our past, take it for granted, or merely pick it and its creators apart. We jade ourselves in this process, preferring to find out the most horrid details of a participants life, rather than focusing on the fact that while they were average men, they were men of great intellect and creativity. In the following paper we present an examination of some of the points made by Shaara in his book. Point 1 In the introduction Shaara provides the student with a great deal of information about various parties who were involved in the founding of our nation. He illustrates the weaknesses of these people, perhaps, for several reasons. He is perhaps trying to get such examination out of the way. For example, when we read a book about a historical figure who we have knowledge of, we may constantly remind ourselves that they were involved in some negative reality or another, wondering if the author will present this information. Shaara may well be doing this in the introduction so that we see the inherently human weaknesses in these individuals. We can then put it aside and focus on what took place. We may also assume that Shaara presents us with this information to illuminate the fact that we, as a modern day society, are often too immersed in such realities, as we prefer to find the negative in historical figures.
