her lungs. Traditional modern medicine had done all the right things and, in fact, the patient was receiving aggressive chemotherapy but it could not cure her. Chopra sent the woman to a special clinic for a week or two, during which time she would experience a much different approach with the goal of having her body transition into a deep state of rest. The treatment would follow the principles of Ayurveda, an ancient Indian intervention. Chopra explained to the patient that the diseased was one that was holistic, a disease that in its own way affected every organ and every process in the body, including her mind and brain. The woman was eventually cured. The story is too long to report here but she continued with chemotherapy but also stayed at the Ayurvedic clinic and continued outpatient processes. These processes included yoga exercises, changing her diet, meditation, two specific mental exercises and consuming certain Ayurvedic herbs. X-rays actually revealed there was no more concern, which astonished her doctors, including Chopra because that particular type of chemo is not known to dissolve the cancer cells as fast as they did. Quantum Healing: Exploring the Frontiers of Mind/Body Medicine is just one of many books and articles Chopra has written; there are even video and audio cassettes/DVDs explaining his approach to healing. As with his other publications, Quantum Healing attempts to educate the Western mind on the mind/body connection in health and healing.
