While many cite vague scriptural references in an attempt to justify the exclusion of women from the pulpit, one can begin to see trends within the faith that point towards a resurgence of women into the preaching profession, upending the patriarchic domination of that station and infusing the dissemination of Christian doctrine with a sorely needed multi-gender perspective that emphasizes the religions basic humanism and undermines harmful extra-scriptural prohibitions. As a result of this trend, there has been a recent influx not only of female preachers but of books written on the topic of women occupying a preachers role in the contemporary church.
