PAUL RYAN - A BIOGRAPHY Paul Ryans family has lived and played in Wisconsin for five generations now. He is looking at his second stint as a Member of Congress and there is no doubt he will be serving a brilliant second term. Pauls great-grandfather opened a construction company in Wisconsin in 1884 and it is still in business today. Paul spent plenty of time there working in the business and learning the trade. Some of Pauls prior government experience includes "serving as an aide to former U.S. Senator Bob Kasten [R-WI], as an economic advisor and speechwriter for former Vice Presidential candidate Jack Kemp and former U.S. Drug Czar Bill Bennett, and as a Legislative Director in the U.S. Senate" (House Members PG). After graduating from Joseph A. Craig High School in Janesville he went on to earn degrees in economics and political science from Miami University in Ohio. In December of 2000 Paul Ryan married his wife Janna, and their baby daughter was born in February of 2002.
