two different intervals: before implementation and one year thereafter (Lynn et al, 1997). The study population of nurses had a size that reflected seventy-nine nurses who returned their questionnaires
prior to implementation and fifty-one who did so one year after, which tabulated a forty-percent return rate. Questionnaires were used to collect the data. The type of reliability
and validity of the measurement tools was indicated by fiscal and patient realms. Ethical concerns were addressed. Choosing to use qualitative methods
for this study allowed the researchers to seek a deeper reality, inasmuch as their aim was to examine things in a natural setting; as such, human behavior research benefits greatly
from qualitative methodology. Using the systematic anthropological technique of passive observation, this study employed the act of watching behavior and conversation in natural occurring settings as a means by
which to collect data. Additionally, the use of participant observation was used so that the researcher - in addition to observing - also occupied a role or part in
the setting, reflecting how participant observation is both extensive and intuitive by nature. In this particular study, the researchers did not use preset questions but rather queries shaped by
a defined set of topics. Reliable qualitative research employs a diverse number of data collection methods and should actually touch the core of what is going on rather than
