Nabokov is, in many ways, something of a disturbing novel for most readers. This is because it is a novel that relates the sexual desires a middle aged man has
for a young girl who has barely entered into puberty. It is a novel that speaks of his plans to drug her so he can have her sexually, and a
novel that speaks poetically of a mans inability to really deal with the world and his own life. As such it is a socially disturbing book, but also one that
perhaps speaks of struggles and social problems. The following paper provides a report on the book. Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov In the beginning of this novel the reader
discovers that the main character has some serious issues concerning his past and love. When he was in the throngs of puberty he was in love with a young girl
who died before he could really consummate any relationship with her. Since they he has had an incredibly deviant lust for girls about that age, an age where they have
no experience and are just beginning puberty and growing a womans body. He has told himself his unnatural desire for such a girl is because of his lost love in
his boyhood days. He meets Lolita and instantly desires her, doing anything he can to be near her, even agreeing to marry Lolitas mother so he can be nearer.
However, he is discovered, in his desires, and Lolitas mother tries to reveal the truth but is killed, leaving the main character free and clear to seduce Lolita, which he
plans to do with drugs. However, when he finally approaches her about sexual relations she informs him that she is not inexperienced and she seduces him instead. One could perhaps
