Essay / Research Paper Abstract
This is a 5 page paper presenting the weaknesses in the pro-life argument against abortion and the strengths and rights presented in the case of those for pro-choice. In the arguments presented by pro-lifers in regards to their opposition to abortion, there has been found to be inconsistent reasoning behind their definitions of morality, medical ethics, responsibility, fetus viability and the idea of “preservation of life”. The weaknesses in the pro-life arguments are considered one of the many inconsistencies which exist within society today in regards to the abortion debate. Advocates of pro-choice in regards to abortion have found that women’s decisions to have abortions are actually based on their basic human right to choose what happens to them and their bodies, obviously, but also in their basic rights to health, their responsibilities toward their unborn child and their families, the medical communities ethical responsibility to preserving the health of women, and their right to life considered above that of their unborn children.
