not be viable. The cost may be too great, and the ability to transfer information between different users and is sufficiently secure environment may be posting constraints on the way
the company is operating. In order to overcome these constraints and facilitate a greater transfer of information between offices and departments in different locations, such as the time, the company
is considering installing a virtual private network. 2. The Technology VPNs or Virtual Private Networks are increasing in popularity. The technology is able to
provide cost effective solutions that can link a number of remote users who would otherwise have to be linked with a wide area network (WAN) or a local area network
(LAN). The adoption has been supported with the development of Windows 2000 and a range of other environment factors and may now be seen in a range of commercial and
non commercial environment. One recent example has been the adoption of a VPN by the Honolulu police in place of the current radio system (Thomas, 2004). Another is a hospital
in Florida (Engebretson, 2004). More recently there ahs been the use of the technology at the Menningers Clinic (Janis, 2008). A virtual private network is a network that makes use
