of everything. These chapters tell us that humans, although created in Gods image, used the free will God gave them to disobey the only rule He gave them. It tells us how easily we are tempted to go against what we know is right, how easily our minds can be tricked by Satan and how hard it is to resist these kinds of temptations. God created humans last and placed them in dominance over all other creatures (Genesis 1:26). But, it is also important to note that although God created man in His image, man was another earthly creature, not a heavenly creature (Paulk, 2001). God warned Adam that if he ate from the one tree, the "tree of the knowledge of good and evil" (Genesis 2:17), he would die. Eve fell victim to the Serpents manipulation and wanted to gain wisdom and so she ate it (Genesis 3:6). Humans do similar things today, they strive for what is desirable or what is believed to be desirable and in so doing, they violate Gods word. Consider the number of people in todays world who strive constantly for more wealth, for more stuff without a thought about what God says is important or what God tells us to do with our treasure. Sadly, humans today are not very much different than Adam and Eve in many ways. It is easy to be tricked by Satan, in fact, it may be easier to be tricked by Satan today than it was then. Remember that God went looking for Adam? God was walking in the Garden and Adam and Eve hid from Him (Genesis 3:8-9).
