particular work, where Galileo writes to the Duchess, he begins his argument by refuting the assertions of those who have accused him of disrespecting various thematic principles set forth within
the Bible. Fundamentally, he offers arguments which contain accusations that his opponents are misinterpreting the Bible. From a logical perspective, Galileo tells the Grand Duchess that his accusers
are evidently ignorant to science and blinded by biblical facts they could not possibly understand. The controversy stems from Galilelos discovery that the
Sun rests motionless in the center of the universe. Although not entirely correct, his heliocentric model is much more accurate than previous geocentric beliefs which maintained that the center
of the universe was the Earth. Of course, this inherently created problems for the church who asserted that the geocentric model was based on biblical interpretation and therefore, should
be the accepted model for the universe. Essentially, Galileo makes the point that those who so adamantly attempt to prove him wrong are asking simply
that man abandon all sense of logic and reason for an unchangeable acceptance of their biblical interpretations. It is with this rebuttal, that Galileo begins to make his connection
between science and the bible. First, Galileo tells the Duchess that it is indeed a true sign of religious integrity to view the Bible as
an entity incapable of speaking that which is not the truth (so long as its true meaning is understood). But, he contends, one can not deny that interpretation
of the Bible is often difficult and no one can surely claim that they know exactly what its words signify. With this in mind, he tells the Duchess, there
