Fremont Technology Plans Section 5 outlines the infrastructure, hardware, technical support and software components of the plan, demonstrating the need to integrate varying levels of technology and updating existing systems to provide access for students and technical support across content areas and educational settings. As a result, the Fremont Unified School District has sought funding for Section 5 of the plan through the Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) Grant Program. In order to meet the requirements of the EETT Grant Program relative to the areas of infrastructure, hardware, technical support and software components, the Fremont plan must correspond with the four specific aspects of Criterion 5 outlined in the EETT specifications. These four specific aspects of Criterion 5 include: 1. to define the types of hardware, electronic resources, networking and infrastructure that is needed by all members of the educational community to support the existing curriculum, as well as the professional development elements within the educational plans for the district; 2. to define the nature of existing technology, including all hardware, networking systems, resource and technical support that is already in place and/or can be used to support the existing curriculum, as well as the professional development elements within the educational plans for the district; 3. to create a list of benchmarks and a specific set of obtainable dates for the implementation of new hardware, infrastructure, technical support and technology-based resources in support of educational planning; and 4. to outline the process through which the educational institutions involved will document and monitor whether the goals are being met within the specific timeline noted, and how reporting of this will occur.
