are those who do not believe that government should have much reach into the minds of the community and that schools are a way of indoctrinating children into the system. However, most do agree that education should be provided for by government. Various nations around the world have seen fit to educate the youth. It is par for the course, but some nations see it as more of an obligation to school children so that they can become productive citizens. Other nations see it as a perfunctory responsibility that is not necessarily the governments obligation to steer youth to adulthood, but merely to give them a start in life. How is education viewed in the United States? By and large, the U.S. sees education as something that is necessary for students so that they can get ahead in life. It is taken very seriously and early on, and children are labeled "at risk" where it is assumed that they may never make it to a high school gradation. It is something that school systems want to resolve early on, because in the United States, if children are not educated through their eighteenth year of life, then the public sees that as a failure. Before delving into suggestions on how to improve education in the United States, it pays to explore the rights of students and parents. Whose responsibility is it to educate children anyway? First and foremost, families and schools are responsible for seeing that children are educated. Parents are responsible for rearing their children and that includes the provision of education.
