those that entered the country, all influenced others and those that join the culture are assimilated into the rich and diverse society. This sounds an idealistic state, and the idea of the assimilation model that appears to reflect may be seen as one that is aimed at increasing the highest level of integration and racial harmony. However, when we look at the evidence this may be true in some areas, but in others the idea of a model of assimilation may be seen unwanted and also destructive. There are many strengths in a model of assimilation. However, where there is to be assimilation there also need to be education and understanding. We known that racism will often be a symptom of ignorance. There are many reasons for ignorance, and if we look at the population of any country and pick out a single minority of ethnic origin it is likely that they will have been isolated with some sort of ethnic stereotyping. This may or may not have some basis in fact. Even where it does it may be seen as a symptom of other aspects of the minorities social condition and not a cultural traditional or characteristic rather the way which it may have been interpreted b others. Racism may be seen in many ways, the most obvious is through violence and race riots, but much of the time racism is demonstrated in more subtle ways. The violence may be simply pushing a shoving of the victim, not causing any physical harm but inflicting mental torture. The violence may be aimed at property instead of the individuals themselves, cars trashed or graffiti scrawled on their houses. Alternatively, it may simply be mental persecution, ...
