be carefully considered when looking at this complex and rapidly growing company. Unlike many other companies this company does not appear to have either a vision statement or a mission statement. However, they do outline many of their values and ideals in detail in order to understand the attitude the company takes towards corporate governance. The company publish a booklet; "What we stand for......Our Business Policies", in this they identify and outline business policies and commitment with the emphasis of five areas; ethics, employees, relationships, health safety and the environment and financial. The company state that they want to conduct business " with integrity and respect for the law" that for employees they want to create " stimulating employment practices where diversity is valued", when looking at relationship they aim to create "mutual advantage in all relationships" for health safety and the environment to conduct " business to avoid accidents, doing no harm to people and no damage to the environment" and finally with reference to finance policies to " maximise long-term value" (BP Amaco, 1999). From this there is the impression that the company has high ideals and may be seen as a leading light in the corporate world, embracing all the values are valued by all of the stakeholders. The rhetoric also appears to be pout into practice and as such there is what may be seen as a stakeholder corporate strategy. One example may be the Helios Awards. These are awards given annually and are used to unite all the employees and recognise different types of excellence and also share the knowledge. There are awards for Human energy.
