on my own, I find myself living with my parents. This is of course something that is not uncommon today. Children seem to grow up fast, and they stay home
indefinitely. I have a girlfriend named Carla who is a nurse. She is 28 years old and has her own apartment. It is possible that someday we will move in
together or marry, but presently, I am focused on attaining a degree and biding my time until I am settled in a career. I am studying to be an engineer.
My early childhood was rather turbulent. We moved every few years. My parents got divorced before I could even remember what my real father looked like, and since that time,
I have had four stepfathers. The last one has actually been a good parent to me, but I cannot say the same for the others. The third guy my mother
married had a liking for leather and the snap of the belt. Anytime I talked out of turn, or fought with my sister, I would be punished severely. But Jack
only lasted about eight months. I was about seven years old at the time and my sister Dolores was ten. Also, it was not uncommon for my friends to be
beat. During the period, we lived in North Carolina, and it was not uncommon for the children to fear the "switch." We moved up north after that to a suburb
of Philadelphia where my mother met and married Carl. Carl was a strong, hefty man about twenty years her senior. He hardly recognized me and could not tell me apart
