rise of internet technology, the potential scope of human communication has been greatly expanded. Certainly, information presented on the web is able to be disseminated to a much wider audience
than through any other medium in history. However, in order to effectively communicate using the internet, one must have a full understanding of the manner in which information is stored
and transmitted online, and how technology retrieves and processes that information. This paragraph helps the student introduce the four browsers to be compared in the study. People generally access
the internet by using a program called a "browser"; in theory, a browser simply allows the user to navigate to different sites on the web, parses the sites internal code,
and presents it as intended to the user. However, differences in the internal structure of each browser cause them to display the same code differently, sometimes resulting in distorted information.
To understand how the differences in browsers can be significant, it can be helpful to try out various types of sites across a spectrum of browsers. For the purposes of
this paper, the researcher has selected four browsers: Microsofts Internet Explorer 8, Mozillas Firefox 5, Googles Chrome, and the Apple Safari browser. Certain sites such as news and sports
sites are all about presenting as much information as possible in a limited space. For this reason, news sites often rely on complex, crowded layouts, with many carefully arranged links,
videos, and images. These layouts are usually accomplished through the use of cascading style sheets. CSS code is constantly evolving, and different browsers tend to support different levels of CSS,
with some features being available in certain browsers but not in others. Looking at a news or sports site in Internet Explorer, one may notice that layouts look more jumbled
