of political geography. Part Two of Political Geography educates the reader on all issues surrounding the State, such as the difference between nation and state; modern theories; and frontiers and
boundaries. Glassner establishes a concise perception when it comes to differentiating the commonly confused concepts of nation and State -- a significant component of political geography -- explaining that
while they "are often used interchangeably, there is a difference" (Rosenberg, 1998, p. aa042798.htm). According to Glassner, the primary contrarieties between the two are that a State inherently has:
well-established boundaries; regular residents; an organized and active economy; maintains social power; transportation system; public service and protection provided by government; sovereignty; and external recognition by being "voted into the
